About Our Company
An introduction from the founder and director of Independent Air Conditioning Ltd.
Hi, my name is Stephen Reeder and back in 1987 I decided to make the move to Gibraltar to relocate. I have family here in Gibraltar and I thought that it would make a nice change.
I started working almost straight away for a Daikin air-conditioning company (Coldaire Engineering) I spent the next 16 years learning the trade on the tools installing all types of Daikin Air-conditioning systems.
In 2003, my employer decided he wanted to sell his company. I had been thinking about my next step and had applied for an industrial unit in Lathbury Barracks and I had decided that if I was successful with the application I would start my own business. Well I was successful with my application and with 20 quid in my pocket I resigned my post and formed my own company. This in hindsight was to be the most difficult decision I will ever have made in my life. The rollercoaster of company ownership and responsibility had begun as I was suddenly on the biggest learning curve of my life… all uphill.
Back to the present day we are now celebrating this Christmas 20 years of IAC Ltd, 2003-2023.
I have a team of great professionals that includes Sheffield trained sheet metal fabricators and cladding professionals. We fabricate all of our own ductwork in our workshops and offices at 59 New Harbours, Gibraltar.
I personally have been working with Daikin for 36 years and we are the only Daikin representative in Gibraltar to have been awarded Daikin D1+ status which is the highest accolade you can have from one of the biggest air-conditioning companies in the world.
We are all trained directly through courses provided by Daikin UK to keep us up to speed with all the updates and advances in technology which Daikin, as world leader in its field, provides.
We specialise in industrial systems as well as domestic installations and we have a portfolio of projects that we have undertaken which includes Hospitals, GBC Television studios and the Royal Naval Hospital conversion to elderly care facilities. We have a very proactive maintenance program looking after our installs and that of others. We are also the preferred provider for World Trade Centre, and most of the betting and gaming companies in Gibraltar.
In conclusion, I would like to thank all of my existing clients for supporting IAC over the last 20 years and look forward to the next chapter serving Gibraltar.
